Assetto Corsa
(Italian for "Race Setup") is a racing simulation video game created
by Kunos Simulazioni, an Italian video game company. It's been created with a
focus on delivering a realistic racing experience while also allowing for significant
customization and mod ability. On November 8, 2013, the game was originally
published through the Steam Early Access programs, then on December 19, 2014,
it was officially released as the final release version.
On 3 June
2015, 505 Games and Kunos Simulazioni announced that the game will be released
on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2016, and on 20 January 2016, a release date
of 22 April 2016 was confirmed. The console release was postponed till June 3,
2016, according to an announcement made on February 24, 2016. The game was published on consoles in Europe
and North America on 26 and 30 August 2016, respectively. On May 29, 2019, a
second title, Assetto Corsa Competizione, was launched.
Assetto Corsa
uses a cutting-edge DirectX 11 graphics engine to produce an immersive world
with dynamic lighting, realistic materials, and realistic surfaces. The
advanced physics engine is being designed to provide a realistic driving experience, with features
and aspects of real cars that have never been seen on any other racing
simulator, such as tyre flat spots, Advanced aerodynamic simulation with active
moveable aerodynamics components controlled in real time by telemetry input
channels, including graining and blistering. Exclusive licenced automobiles
reconstructed with the highest authenticity possible, due to the official
collaboration of car manufacturers. Extremely detailed with single player and
multiplayer possibilities. Assetto Corsa was created in the KUNOS Simulazioni
R&D studio, which is located right inside the famous Vallelunga racing
circuit, allowing the team to work with real-world racing drivers and teams to
build the game.
Assetto Corsa
is a racing simulation that uses precise physics and tyre modelling on race
courses reconstructed using laser-scanning technology to attempt to provide a
realistic driving experience with a range of road and race vehicles. It works
with mouse, keyboards, wheels, gamepads, triple-displays, Track IR head
tracking, VR head-mounted displays, and Nvidia 3D Vision and professional
motion systems, among other peripherals. Modified third-party material can be
used to extend the programs.
The game's
realism settings may be adjusted to match the player's experience, ranging from
artificial to "factory" or completely eliminated assistance. For both
offline and online play, a number of session styles and session parameters are
available. A server management application may be used to create servers for
both online and LAN sessions.
