You can leave a WhatsApp group without anyone knowing — except for the admin — in the latest version of the app.
In older versions of WhatsApp, group members
were notified when you left a group chat.
Members can still see that you've left a
group chat if they look at the members list on the chat's details page, but
they won't be notified.
Group chats have their place, but no one likes to be seen
abruptly leaving a party early, and that's what it can feel like to exit a
group chat on WhatsApp.
Thankfully, you can leave a WhatsApp group chat without
fellow members of the chat knowing immediately that you've left; you can do it
silently, and only the group admin is notified.
Thanks to a recent update to WhatsApp, most group chat
members are no longer notified when you leave the group.
1. In WhatsApp, tap the Chats tab at the bottom of the
page.
2. In the Chats list, tap the group you want to
leave.
3. On the conversation page, tap the group name at the
top of the screen.

4. On the info page, scroll down and tap Exit Group.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Exit Group to leave silently.

You'll silently leave the group — and members will not be
notified, except for the group's admin. Of course, group members will be able
to see that you have left if they inspect the list of participants on the
group's details page.

How to hide WhatsApp online

2. Go to your WhatsApp settings.

3. In Settings, tap Account.
4. On the Account page, tap Privacy.
5. Tap Last Seen to change your online status.

6. You have two options to hide your online or Last Seen
status — you can choose for only My Contacts to see your status or for Nobody
to see your status.
You can also choose My Contacts Except and select people
from your contacts list who you don't want to see your "Last Seen"
status. Then, tap Done in the top right corner on iPhone or the check mark in
the bottom right corner on Android.
Note: While hiding your Last Seen means people won't be
able to see when you were last online, it will still show them when you're
currently online.
7. Once you've made a selection, your online or Last Seen
status will be visible to just your contacts, no one at all, or the contacts
you didn't exclude, depending on your selection.
How to hide online status on WhatsApp while chatting with friends
WhatsApp has already introduced a feature that we all
have been waiting for. Last month, the instant messaging platform announced
that soon users will be able to hide their online status even when they are
active on the app. The meta-owned messaging platform said that the official
feature will be available in some more time. Now, if you just can't wait and
want to hide your online status from your contacts, there's a way around.
Notably, the tricks that we are going to explain below
work for both Android and iOS users.
--First, open the WhatsApp app on your phone.
--You will then need to go to the three vertical dots in
the upper right corner.
-- Users can simply click on the Settings menu.
--Now, click on Account option and then go to the Privacy
option.
--You will be able to see the Last Seen option. There
will be two options -- My Contacts and Nobody. On clicking My Contacts option
your online status will be available only to your contacts. The second option,
Nobody, will hide the online status from everyone.
While this option solves the purpose, it should be noted
that clicking on 'Nobody' option will also hide other's online status. In
simple words, even you will not be able to see your friend's online status.
Well, if you can settle for that, go ahead and enable the option right now. Or,
if you can wait for WhatsApp to officially release the hide online status
feature in the coming weeks, do so for a better experience.
At the time of announcing the feature, WhatsApp said that
the feature has been added for those who want to keep their online presence
private. The messaging platform confirmed that it will start rolling out the
feature to all users in August, but that didn't happen. So, we can expect the
company to officially roll out the hide online feature possibly this month.
Once the feature is available, you will just need to open
WhatsApp and go to Settings > Account > Privacy. Now, you will find a
"Last seen and online" option on the top of the screen to hide your
online status.

Messages" app.
