Anti-gravity driving on walls or ceilings is introduced in Mario Kart 8, as well as the ability for players to crash against one other for a temporary boost. Single-player and multiplayer modes are available, as well as online play via the Nintendo Network.

When Mario Kart 8 was released, it was a critical and financial success. Critics praised the game's new features, tracks, visuals, gameplay, and orchestrated music, but criticized the game's restricted Battle mode. With over eight million copies sold globally, it is the best-selling Wii U game.

Features Of Mario Kart 8

There are numerous significant improvements to the Mario Kart 8 formula that drastically alter the game:

1. Dual Item Capacity:

Players may now grasp and hold up to two things at once, one of which is held out and the other of which is kept in reserve for when the first item is used up.

2. Super Drift Boost:

If you remain drifting after your kart's sparks turn blue and then orange, they will turn light purple and give you a greater speed boost when released. If Smart Steering is enabled, Super Drift Boost is disabled.

3. Spin and Quick:

To improve Battle Mode gameplay, Nintendo introduced the ability to turn 180 degrees. When you press B (brake) while making a strong turn, you'll spin around quickly.

4. Smart Steering:

This driver assistance function is enabled by default you must manually turn it off by accessing the menu when selecting a kart through. This extra mode allows players to improve their driving abilities or allow younger children to race on more difficult courses. This feature, represented by an antenna on the rear of the cart, automatically assists players in avoiding going over edges by guiding them back on track when falling would be unavoidable otherwise. On the other hand, it might deter you from taking shortcuts.

5. Auto Acceleration:

This feature is off by default but adds another level of driving assist for novice players which helps with gas and braking.

6. Boo and Feather Item:

The Boo item, which makes a return from earlier Mario Kart games, allows you to take a random driver's held item, while the Feather lets players execute a big leap.

7. Eight Player Local Multiplayer:

To play multiplayer, up to 8 Nintendo Switch systems can connect through local WIFI (no internet connection required). On a single system, two players can play.

8. LAN Mode:

When using LAN adapters to connect multiple devices hold L and R and push the left stick in on the main menu. This converts Wireless Play into LAN Play, which may be utilized in contests. While waiting in online lobbies between matches, you can change karts and characters. Character choosing will be halted at the end of the race countdown, so online play will not be hampered.

Pros and Cons Of Mario Kart 8

Pros

1. Deluxe: It includes a fully realized version with specialized courses and 5 fight kinds, whereas the Wii U simply gave a shallow experience on normal courses.

2. Boosting: When drifting, there is now a third-level purple. Because of the extended time of sliding required, it's rare to trigger an "Ultra Mini-Turbo" on regular corners.

3. Time Trials: One of the game's most underappreciated modes, replete with internet leaderboards and ghost racing possibilities, and highly addicting.

4. Fire Hopping: The exploit in the Wii U version, which enabled you to increase the duration of boosts by hopping from left to right, is no longer available.

Cons

There is no single-player mode! While the 48 courses are split into 12 Cups, and therefore 12 mini championships to win, they are a joke for seasoned players. There's no such thing as a challenge! This is a recurring issue in Mario Kart, particularly on home systems.
